Any form of abuse is #Never OK.

Abuse includes acts of harm, oppression, discrimination, exploitation, and manipulation of power. This can be caused by those inflicting harm or those who fail to act to prevent harm.

Abuse is not restricted to any particular group in society and can take many forms, including:
  • Physical abuse
  • Sexual abuse
  • Emotional or psychological abuse
  • Coercive control (a pattern of intimidation, degradation, isolation and control with the use or threat of physical or sexual violence)
  • Online or digital abuse
  • Forced marriage
  • Honour- based violence
  • Modern slavery
  • Neglect
  • Financial (or material) abuse
Abuse can be experienced by any individual, regardless of their sex, gender, sexual orientation, relationship status, age, disability, faith, religion, ethnicity, nationality, and economic status. Women are disproportionately affected by experiences of abuse. Experiences of abuse may also intersect with other forms of bullying and harassment.
